Smugglers Cove Oregon

I am living in Wheeler Oregon now, after surfing at this beach I was intrigued by this amazing tree. Taking pictures of oil paintings are pretty challenging; I used a linseed oil medium this day and no matter how I turned it the sun found some way to reflect off of it.

I was recently commissioned to paint a point break for a surfer buddy of mine. As a surfer myself, this was a really fun project. I referenced a wave from a surfing magazine, then imagined how it would keep peeling along the shore.  9x12 oil on panel
